The District Court today sent a further three suspected members of the nascent rebel group, the National Liberation Council of Nongkyndong (NLCN), to 10 days’ police custody.
Out of the four arrested from Jaintia Hills yesterday evening, three were presented to court today, whereas the other has been hospitalised.
The number of arrests made so far has now reached 11.
The operation to bust the new outfit was launched on Wednesday, leading to the arrest of seven members, including a woman and a juvenile.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the juvenile is the ‘chairman’ of the group, though family insist that his main activity prior to his arrest was playing shoot-em-up video games.
