East Jaiñtia Hills police rescued two minor girls from two separate places in Kalain, Assam but the person allegedly involved in kidnapping managed to escape.
As per police report, two minor girls aged 13 and 14, went missing on September 17.
During the course of investigation, police found out that the two minor girls have been taken somewhere in Kalain, Assam. With the assistance of Assam police, the two minor were rescued yesterday, police said.
Acting on a tip off, police traced the accused person, Saydul Islam but managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness and police are on the look-out for more persons involved, East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police, Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said.
He said the rescued minors have been safely brought back to Khliehriat and will be handed over to the CWC after completion of all formalities.
