Twelve youth from Meghalaya who represented the State at the national level Yogasana Sports Championship, which was held virtually were today felicitated by the Meghalaya Yogasana Sports Association (MYSA).
The championship was organised by the National Yogasana Sports Federation, New Delhi concluded on November 15 at Bhubaneswar.
Participants from East Khasi and Garo Hills districts participated in the quarter-finals of the event but could not qualify for the Semi-finals, MYSA said.
However, the participants were honoured with participation certificates for demonstrating excellent skills of Yogasana.
State Liaison Officer (Games Secretariat) Jibonsingh R. Marak and MYSA Chief Advisor, Umesh Chandgothia attended the programme.
Marak emphasized on the need of sheer dedication and urge participants to work towards success. He hoped to see Yogasana as a sport in the state’s sport list and assured all possible help to the association with regards to technical, physical and financial support from the concerned departments.
