One person was arrested for alleged involvement in the rape of a woman in the Malki neighbourhood here on Saturday.
Police identified the arrested suspect as Andy Malngiang (19). The authorities are on the lookout for another suspect, Reuben Mawthoh, who is absconding.
An FIR alleging rape was lodged at Laitumkhrah police station naming the two suspects.
Malngiang has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
