Demonstrating a unique form of solidarity ahead of Christmas, Nakithiar, a voluntary group in Ri-Bhoi celebrated with the children of an orphanage today.
The celebration was held at the RBP Synod Children’s Home in Mawsyntai village, in which the children from the Government Children’s Boys Home, Government Children’s Girls Home and RBP Synod Children’s Home took part in the pre-Christmas celebration to spread the message of love, unity and faith.
The members of Nakithiar, led by its founder Tony Shylla and adviser Pynwanbor Sylliang, were present along with the Superintendent of the girls’ home, Byntabiang M Mawblei, Superintendent of the boys’ home, E Ryngnga and superintendent of RBP Synod Children’s home, Darisha Mallai.
Nakithiar Group also distributed Christmas gifts, including blankets to all the children of the orphanages and ended with the Christmas cake cutting.
