The electorate of Shillong and semi-urban areas who understand the English language would also very well understand the political language as well. It is an irony of sorts for the BJP to lampoon the NPP and vice versa during the past months and now towards the fag end portrays a mockery of governance and the government ran by the NPP leadership.
That both parties would accuse one another of corruption, scams and scandals is nothing short of hypocrisy. The Assembly dome scam, the FCI rice scam, Covid scam, wages of labourers during Covid, ISBT, Smart Meter, illegal encroachment of State boundary and so many things that both parties are responsible for.
The MDA government is controlled remotely from Dispur and Delhi which is why the CBI enquiry of the Mukroh incident has gathered dust, so also is the issue of stoppage of funds under FCRA to Christian minority organisations and institutions all these put the Conrad Sangma led-government into abysmal shame.
What else do we need to talk about or be proud of in these five years? Let the electorate judge for themselves.
