Assigned General Observers of the Election Commission of India for the February 27 Assembly election visited many polling stations in Ri-Bhoi yesterday.
The District Election Officer of Ri-Bhoi, Arpit Upadhyaya, informed that the General Observers from the Election Commission paid took a review of the poll preparedness, inspected the assured minimum facility (AMF) in the polling stations and had a detailed understanding of the factors for critical and vulnerable polling stations in those areas.
Meanwhile, the General Observers briefed the Zonal Magistrates, Sector Officers, Sector Police Officers and Booth Level Officers of their respective roles as per the ECI’s guidelines and also made a re-assessment of the vulnerability of the polling stations so as to enable free and fair conduct of the election.
