The Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurian, visited South West Garo Hills to assess the progress of development schemes introduced by the central government.
A meeting with district officials was held at Ampati where discussion on the implementation of flagship programmes under the central government’s Act East policy was held.
He also inspected Belbari primary health centre and Monabari Anganwadi centre, engaging with staff and beneficiaries. Kurian also met with self-help groups at the Talbari Village Organisation, commending their innovative use of water hyacinth plants.
