A body of an unidentified woman was found in Um-im under Umtyra village, East Jaiñtia Hills district yesterday.
Police today said that the body was found lying inside a drain by the roadside along NH 6, about 4 kms away from the village.
The woman aged about 30-35 years and approximately 4 feet in height was wearing a white colour frock with blue and brown colour prints, white colour rosary with wooden cross, silver colour earrings with read stone and orange hairclip.
The reason for the death is yet to be known, police added.
An inquest was conducted and the body has been kept at the Khliehriat Civil Hospital morgue for identification.
