Shillong, May 11: Meghalaya stamped their authority on Group A of the U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2026 with a 5-0 hammering of Jharkhand in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, today.
The start of the match was pushed from the morning to the evening but that did not perturb Meghalaya at all.
Mebanlamlynti Masharing struck in the 19th minute before adding another two goals late in the day (73’, 87’) to complete his hat-trick.
Menangpyndap Khongjee (27’) and Damitre Kynjing (67’) were Meghalaya’s other scorers.
This was the team’s second win after beating Bihar 3-1 two days ago.
Meghalaya’s next fixture will be against Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday at 4:15pm.
