Traffic regulation and other arrangements have been made for filing of nominations papers by candidates in Sheila and Sohra Assembly constituencies under Sohra Sub Division.
The officer in charge of Sohra police station has been asked to depute one officer and personnel for duty at entry point towards SDO Office, Sohra. No Entry sign will be put up from Mot-arliang [Traffic Gazeebo] towards SDO Office, and no vehicles will be allowed to ply towards Sohra-Shella main road from SDO Office except for vehicle of the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Sohra Court. All other vehicles will exit towards Mot-arliang or towards Pala Resort Junction from the approach road behind SDO’s Office.
Only three vehicles carrying the candidates and other persons accompanying the candidates will be allowed to enter toward SDO Office Sohra. The vehicle of the candidates for filing of nominations should park on the open space near SDO Office.
There will be no entry for vehicle coming from Kutmadan village, Jiva Resort towards SDO Office Sohra. Police will set up barricades at Pung Mem Jones Bridge to stop vehicle coming towards SDO Office.
No vehicle will be allowed to approach towards SDO Office from PWD Office junction, Mawpunkyrtiang. Personnel will be stationed for no entry duty during hours of filing nominations by the candidates.
Five persons including candidates shall be allowed to enter beyond SDO Office main Gate. After completion of filing nomination, all candidates will approach from the back side of SDO Office on their way back towards Mot-arliang or Pala Resort Junction.
The road will be one way route from SDO Office to Mot-arliang. Vehicles of the candidates will approach towards Mot-arliang (Jiva Road) after filing nominations.
The Sub Divisional Police Officer further informed that the regulation will be in place on the date of filing nomination.
