South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai inaugurated a new traffic police booth and public restroom at Red Cross, Laban on Thursday.
The facilities, built at a cost of Rs 6.3 lakh, aim to improve traffic management and public sanitation.
Shullai plans to replicate this initiative in Iewdak.
The public toilet was constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission, following demands from local taxi drivers and shopkeepers.
Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Kamakhya Prasad highlighted the police booth’s importance in managing heavy traffic and conducting routine checks efficiently.
