The writ petition of North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) challenging the CAA Rules 2024 and the Adaptation of Laws Order 2019 has been entertained by the Supreme Court.
Informing this today, KSU general secretary Donald Thabah said that the Supreme Court has ordered that the petition be tagged along with the main matter for Assam and North East.
“The next hearing date has not been fixed, but it will be announced soon,” Thabah said.
It may be noted that NESO on March 18 filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court of India, challenging the Rules of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 with a plea to the court to issue a stay on its implementation.
