Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) Meghalaya Chapter, in collaboration with Heritage Education and Communication Service (HECS) organised a two-day teacher training workshop for setting up heritage clubs in schools.
Eleven schools from Shillong participated in the workshop held at Don Bosco Youth Centre and Mawphlang Sacred grove that concluded today.
The aim of the workshop is to sensitize the younger generation through the teachers about local heritage education. To carry this through, the teachers were trained on the different aspects of heritage through presentations, film documentation, heritage walk and group activities.
Principal Director of Heritage Education and Communication Service Division of INTACH Delhi, Purnima Dutt and HECS programme coordinator, Christina Shangne were the resource persons at the workshop.
