Shillong, Oct 13: A man convicted of kidnapping and rape has been sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
Accused Donbor Paliar was convicted in connection with a case lodged at Mairang PS under Sections 376(1), 363, 342, 506 IPC.
The case was investigated by WPSI R.R. Marak after an FIR was lodged on November 22, 2020 alleging kidnapping, wrongful confinement, rape and criminal intimidation.
The Court of District & Sessions Judge, West Khasi Hills convicted the accused under all sections and sentenced him to 10 years RI under 376(1), 7 years under 363, 1 year under 342 and 2 years under 506, to run concurrently, along with total fine of Rs 70,000.
