Following tensions at Lapangap village along the disputed Meghalaya-Assam border in West Jaintia Hills, the State government today issued an order replacing Superintendent of Police Chemphang Syrti.
Superintendent of Police (SP) in charge of the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Jagpal Singh Dhanoa will replace Syrti as the West Jaintia Hills SP.
Syrti has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police (R/PR), Shillong against the existing vacancy, the order said.
Dhanoa has been replaced by Giri Prasad, the SP of East Jaintia Hills district.
Vikash Kumar, the SP of South West Garo Hills will take over as the SP of East Jaintia Hills District.
Vikash Varma SP CM Security was transferred and posted as the SP of South West Garo Hills.
Ishan Gupta, the Additional SP West Jaintia Hills District was transferred and posted as the Additional SP C.M Security.
