Shillong, Aug 7: The office of the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (Traffic) will issue stickers with allotted numbers to all local taxis and autorickshaws operating within the district from September 7 to November 6.
The stickers will cost Rs 150 each. After November 6 latecomers will have to pay Rs 500 as a late fee.
Owners or representatives are requested to produce the following documents (updated/renewed in original along with photocopies) in order to obtain the sticker: registration certificate, permit, insurance certificate, fitness certificate, trading licence for non-tribal owners, professional tax, passenger tax, MLMTU certificate, pollution certificate, copy of EPIC, Aadhaar or other ID proof of the owner/representative.
After all documents are found to be valid, a sticker will be issued and it should be pasted on the left side of the front windshield of the taxi or autorickshaw.
