Shillong, Aug 7: The unidentified dead body of a man was found on Thursday evening at 13th Mile, Tamulikuchi, in Ri-Bhoi.
The man had been found motionless behind a tyre repair shop just before 7pm. Locals told police that he had been loitering in the area for several days and had been at the shop since 4pm on the day he was found.
No identity documents or mobile phones were recovered from his person. Preliminary observations revealed no visible external injuries and the said person was immediately shifted to Byrnihat primary health centre where a medical officer declared him brought dead. The body was then taken to the morgue at Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
The man was described as being between 60 and 65 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin build and swarthy complexion, short black hair, a moustache and beard. He was found wearing a dark blue short-sleeved t-shirt and black shorts.
