Around 20,000 cattle have been vaccinated against the deadly lumpy skin disease in Meghalaya in order to halt the disease’s spread.
This was informed by Secretary of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Manjunatha C, who also informed that some 7,200 cattle have been infected by the disease in the state, of which 4,588 have recovered and 61 have died. There are more than 2,500 active cases.
In order to protect their cattle from the disease, Manjunatha urged farmers to get their animals vaccinated.
