Management representative of Star cement Devender Bansal today said that the company has complied with the fares fixed by the government.
Reacting to protest of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of truck owners and transporters that cement plants have failed to comply with the set rates, Bansal said that the committee has misinterpreted the government notification.
East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner, E Kharmalki said that the cement companies have already complied with the set rate that is applicable in the entire State.
Members of the JAC comprising of the All Jaiñtia Cement Clinker Transporters Association (AJCCTA), Jaiñtia Hills Truck Owners Association (JHTOA) and the Meghalaya Trucks Union (MTU) had blocked several trucks in the district stating they failed to implement the revised rate for transportation of cement and clinkers.
