The Urban Primary Health Centre in Loomkyrwiang, Jowai today held a special outreach health camp with an eye check up for the residents of the village.
The eye check up was conducted by a team from the Bansara Eye Care Clinic, Jowai in the presence of Dr. W. Suna, Medical Officer in charge of the health centre.
An orientation programme was also held for Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS), a women’s group that works to improve health and family planning.
The programme aims to form a synergy between the health centre, ASHA and MAS in addressing health and social issues in their community.
Representative from the World Health Organisation, Delhi Dr Bhavya spoke on diseases that require attention by the community health workers, vaccination, polio and others, ANM of the UPHC Marsalan Toi highlighted about leprosy and staff nurse M.F. Tariang explained about the functions of MAS.
