Shop timings adjusted
In partial modification to an earlier order, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has regulated that all shops selling essential items in the district must close by 5pm during the lockdown period. Petrol pumps are allowed to remain open until 10pm. Pharmacies and pharmaceutical stores will not be affected by this order.
SWKH administration lists priority groups for vaccination
The South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has listed priority target groups to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in the 18-plus age category.
The list includes staff of petrol pumps, LPG distributers and transporters, home delivery staff, power company electricians and linesmen, milkmen, taxi and bus drivers, truck drivers, essential commodities shopkeepers, Food Corporation of India staff, public distribution system dealers, government drivers, domestic workers working from house to house, internet service providers, Public Health Engineering staff, telecom operators from BSNL and other private operators.
New containment zones
New containment orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The houses and compounds of Rebecca Pakyntein, Siantinora Pakyntein, Helmina Pakyntein, Batriti Pakyntein, Goverland Pakyntein and the first floor building of Helmina Pakyntein have all been declared as containment areas.
Wedding guests told to self-isolate
People who attended a wedding in Mawkyrwat yesterday have been told to self-isolate after one of the guests tested positive for Covid-19.
The wedding was between Powerful Lyngdoh and Larisha Diengdoh. Guests who were at the wedding should contact the control room on 9485153533 for further instructions and advice.
Jowai bank closed
The branch of the Meghalaya Co-operative Apex Bank in Iawmusiang, Jowai, will be closed until May 15 after a case of Covid-19 was detected there. Anyone who visited the branch recently should quarantine at home for 10 days, the Deputy Commissioner said.
