The Indian women’s team will arrive in the city on October 17, followed by Iran on October 19 and Nepal on October 22..
This international tournament follows on from the AFC Asian Cup qualifier between India and Bangladesh in March, which followed on from the India-Maldives friendly. Since then, the JN Stadium also hosted several matches of the 134th Durand Cup 2025.
Several meetings have been held bringing together representatives of the Meghalaya Football Association and state government and Shylla said that he is “quite confident” that this tri-nations event will also be a success. He further encouraged football fans of the state to make the tournament a success with their presence at the ground.
