The Department of Zoology at Shillong College celebrated National Wildlife Week 2023 on October 6, which was also part of the diamond jubilee celebration of teaching science at the college.
The celebration was inaugurated by Sachin Gavade, Divisional Forest Officer of the Khasi Hills Wildlife Division, in the presence of college Principal E Kharkongor, Vice-Principal E Dkhar and head of the Zoology Department, EM Pala.
During the event, expert talks were delivered by Brian D Kharpran, Prof SR Hajong and Duwaki Rangad. Open photography and quiz competitions were also organised during the event.
The celebration was attended by teachers and students from different colleges of Shillong. As part of the celebration, a workshop on scientific birding techniques delivered by Jaydev Mandal was also organized on Saturday.
