There is no move for veteran political figure and former Chief Minister DD Lapang to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the latter has confirmed.
BJP national vice-president Chuba Ao had recently met with Lapang, setting off a flurry of speculation.
However, Ao has clarified that the sole purpose was to present Lapang, as a mark of respect and in recognition of his status, with a book on the nine years of BJP rule at the central government level.
