A road safety awareness programme was organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Legal Services Week today.
During the progamme pamphlets were distributed to create awareness amongst the public about the Road Safety (Basic rules of the road); Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and its rules and regulations.
The awareness programme covered various areas of Shillong City viz. Police Bazar, Motphran, Anjalee Pump, Ïew Mawlong, Dhankheti, Laitumkhrah and Polo.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the High Court Legal Services Committee, District Legal Services Authority, District Transport Office, Shillong and Police Department (Traffic).
