Rinalis Ingti made history for Meghalaya at the ongoing National School Games by winning a bronze medal in the high jump on Thursday.
Ingti, from Ri-Bhoi district, cleared a height of 1.55 metres to win the first medal in athletics for the state.
The 66th National School Games began on June 6 and will run until June 13 in Delhi, Bhopal and Gwalior. The Games are being organised by the School Games Federation of India.
Meghalaya has sent a 62-member contingent. Besides athletics, the state is also competing in basketball, shooting, badminton and boxing.
