Meghalaya and other parts of the North East are likely to see the ongoing rain spell intensifying in the coming days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rains (64.5 mm-115.5 mm) may occur at isolated places in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam from April 28 to May 1.
In view of these forecasts, the IMD has issued a yellow watch over the north-eastern region for this five-day period. The advisory urges people in the region to ‘be aware’ of the local weather situation.
