Pressure groups in the Garo Hills, spearheaded by the Garo Students Union (GSU), will hold its fourth round of agitation after the government and the MeECL did not respond to their demands.
The groups had protested in Williamnagar since July 26 which ended yesterday. Their demands include uninterrupted power supply, stop discrimination in recruitment, sufficient manpower in MeECL Garo Hills, backlog recruitment, no transfers of employees from Garo Hills to Khasi Hills without a reliever.
GSU president Saljrang Tengrik today said that they have decided to intensify their agitation from August 3 to flag these demands until the government and the department sits and decides on their demands.
