Stakeholders today inspected a government building in Upper New Nongstoiñ to assess its potential as a drug rehabilitation centre.
The inspection, led by the state government’s Drug Reduction Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM) Mission Director Francis G Kharshiing, involved local authorities and community leaders, as well as Nongstoin MLA Gabriel Wahlang and the West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner.
The proposed project, an initiative of the Urban Mission, New Nongstoin Presbyterian Church and supported by DREAM, aims to convert the building into a rehab centre.
