Four pressure groups from the Selsella area have written to the Chief Minister to request deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) after weeks of heavy rain and flooding.
Roads and culverts have been severely damaged, disrupting transport and connectivity, the groups said.
“The situation has particularly affected farmers, who are facing devastating losses to their crops and livelihoods, and students, whose education is being compromised due to the inaccessibility of schools and educational facilities,” the letter stated.
In light of these circumstances, the state government and district administration were requested to provide immediate relief to those affected by the natural calamities, besides deploying the NDRF to help manage the flood situation more effectively, prepare the people for future incidents and thereby prevent loss of life.
