The Sonapyrdi (Sonapur) Tunnel along the National Highway 6, which was blocked due to recurrence of mudslide, resumed today.
However, drivers are advised to drive with caution and not to indulge in overtaking, East Jaiñtia Hills district police said.
The workers engaged by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the district administration are keeping a close watch in case another bout of mudslide occurs even as clearance work is on.
The arterial stretch connects the Cachar and Karimganj districts of Assam, East Jaiñtia Hills district in Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram.
