The National Cadets Corps (NCC) annual training camp began on Monday and will run until September 27.
It is being organised by the 61st Battalion of the Meghalaya Girls NCC at 58 Gorkha Training Centre.
A lot of impetus is being put in training the cadets the regimental way. The cadets are made to undergo physical training, drill practice and are taught various service subjects like map reading, field craft and battle craft, weapons training, etc.
The firing practice was widely appreciated by the cadets, a press release stated today. Various competitions will also be held which will improve the personality of the cadets, national integration, spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, which will groom them to become tomorrow’s leaders, the statement added.
