Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan today attended the annual associate NCC officers (ANOs) award ceremony, organised by the National Cadets Corps (NCC) Directorate, North East Region, here today.
In recognition of the efforts of the ANOs in their respective fields, the Governor gave away awards to 16 officers from different states of the North East in the presence of Lt Gen Sanjay Malik, the GOC of 101 Area Shillong, Maj Gen Gagandeep, Assistant Director General of the NCC North East, associate officers of the NCC, senior state officials, officers of the army and police.
Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said that the ANOs play an important role in the NCC and also in upholding discipline and national unity. Lauding the officers for their tremendous contributions, he urged them as disciplined citizens of the country to work hard and contribute to the development of the community selflessly.
