To ensure transparency to fill up vacant posts in the Meghalaya Police, the department has decided to select an agency to conduct recruitment.
“We have already invited tenders for the company who will conduct the transparent recruitment by utilising up to date technology,” Director General of Police (DGP) Lajja Ram Bishnoi told reporters on the sidelines of the Republic Day celebrations in Shillong yesterday.
The DGP said that 21 days time has been given to the companies to submit their bids and after which the bidders will be finalised.
He said that once the tender is allocated to a company, advertisement will published to fill up the posts.
“We will do it for 3000 and it will be the largest recruitment (drive) in Meghalaya,” Bishnoi added.
The DGP hoped that by the second week of February the name of the company will be finalised. “We will give a months’ time to complete the process related to recruitment,” Bishnoi said.
He said that the sanctioned strength of Meghalaya police is 17, 500 out of which nearly 3,200 are vacant.
“SO once the 3000 new recruits join the Meghalaya police it will finally become more vibrant and stronger,” the DGP said.
