Two persons have been arrested from Kashipur area at Silchar-Jiribam road for possessing methamphetamine tablets, an official statement said.
Acting on information, officials of the office of the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), NER Shillong on April 29 kept surveillance along the road for a few hours and managed to apprehend two persons.
The custom officials seized 2.270 Kgs of Methamphetamine (WY) tablets from their possession valued at Rs 2.23 crores.
The duo was booked under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and sent to judicial custody by a court.
Further Investigation into the case is under progress, the statement said.
