Amlarem and Pynursla were some of the wettest places in the state in the 24 hours to Thursday afternoon, with each receiving some 27cm of rainfall in that time.
Sohra and Khliehriat each received around 20cm and Mawsynram 14cm.
Some moderate rainfall is expected over the next two days but some areas may experience heavier levels of precipitation on May 5 and 6, according to Indian Meteorological Department forecasts, affecting not just Khasi-Jaintia Hills but Garo Hills as well.
