State BJP President, Ernest Mawrie today launched ‘Meri Mati-Mere Desh’ campaign, a nationwide drive to honour the martyrs who fought for India’s independence at Laitkor, Lumheh, Nongkrem mandal.
Leaders of the party state committee, state mahila morcha and yuva morcha and Shillong City District President were also present on the occasion.
Under the campaign, soil will be collected from different villages from all districts across Meghalaya to create the Amrit Vatika which will be built near the National War Memorial in New Delhi by fusing the soil and saplings that would arrive in 7500 urns from different parts of the country.
