The Meghalaya government has won two coveted Pan-Asian awards at the WOW Awards Asia 2025, Asia’s largest platform recognising excellence in events and experiential marketing.
Organised by eventfaqs, the WOW Awards honoured Meghalaya with two Gold Awards for the widely acclaimed Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival 2024.
The state bagged the Gold Award in the ‘Special Event of the Year–Government’ category for the Cherry Blossom Festival, and another Gold Award in the ‘Festival of the Year – Arts and Culture’ category under the theme, ‘Culture in Full Bloom’.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh said, “These are tangible outcomes of the festivals that we are organising, particularly the Cherry Blossom Festival. This recognition not only showcases the potential of our cultural landscape but also highlights how events like these help position Meghalaya as a key tourism destination in Asia.”
