With a little over three weeks remaining before the start of the 5th Meghalaya Games, a meeting was held yesterday in Tura to review preparations.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Jagdish Chelani in the presence of organising committee co-chairman John F Kharshiing with all 17 committee officials, representatives of state associations and other senior government officials.
The meeting reviewed venue readiness, venue infrastructure, facilities, logistics coordination, transportation arrangements for athletes, officials and guests besides a host of other micro details.
“The continuous successful hosting of the Meghalaya Games not only fosters athletic excellence but also instills hope and pride among sports enthusiasts and officials. The Meghalaya Games is an opportunity and a platform provided for the athletes to strive to bring laurels to our state and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship,” the MSOA said in a release.
