Mawkyrwat Police Station was declared a containment zone today by the South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner due to the detection of Covid-positive individuals and high-risk contacts.
Meanwhile, in East Khasi Hills, the house of Spahmon Kshiar at Jaiaw Umpohliew; the house of Anita Marwein, Dong Skul, Lower Lumparing; the house of Easter Mary Synrem, Dong Shilliang, Lower Lumparing; the house of Biswarup Chakraborty (tenant) in the compound of H Kharsandy, near Shillong Guest House, Howell Road, Laban; Flat A-2, Sutnga Apartment, Streamlet Road, Laban; flat of tenant A Chakraborty (second floor) of the building of J Malngiang, Harisabha, Laban; and the house of M Paudel, Lawsohtun Block 5 have all been declared as containment zones.
