To spread awareness about the menace of drugs, Welkinstone Shadap will travel on foot from Itanagar to Shillong, beginning his epic journey on September 30.
The route is well over 300km long and Shadap hopes to complete the journey in eight days and expects to cover up to 50km on some days.
An avid walker, his past hikes have taken him from Guwahati to Shillong and Shillong to Nongstoin. The Itanagar-Shillong route will be on a different order of magnitude, however.
Shadap will leave for Itanagar on September 27 and start his journey from the Arunachal Pradesh capital three days later. He will end his walk home at North-East Hill University (NEHU) here.
