The court of the Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills district has sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a minor in 2001.
Dri Phawa of Myrjai village had committed the crime on May 23, 2001.
Police acted on a FIR lodged by the mother at Jowai police station and investigated by ASI W. Vaichei, were a charge sheet was filed against the person under section 376 IPC.
