The court of the Special Judge (POCSO) in East Khasi Hills has sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for rape he committed in 2017.
In a verdict passed on December 17, 2024, the court convicted Kewelstone Khongsngi under section 6 POCSO Act read with section 506 IPC. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
The case was investigated by inspector Balsime Marak, presently posted in Crime Branch Police Station, Eastern Range.
