As assembly elections in Meghalaya are due on February 27, Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (MPMCC) today held a meeting at the Mawkyrwat to discuss the preparations and the strategy for the polls.
The meeting was attended by president of MPMCC, Joplyn S. Shylla in the presence of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections, Carness Sohshang and Victorealness Syiemlieh.
Sohshang, who will run from Mawkyrwat constituency, said his intentions are clear though some parties tried to buy him. “I am not poor, but I have a rich heart and cannot be bought,” he stated.
At the meeting, new women members were also welcomed to the Congress fold.
