A man was crushed to death while his son sustained severe injuries after they were struck by a truck at Lad Umroi, Ri-Bhoi, today morning.
The incident occurred around 9am when Tripash Sangma, riding a two-wheeler (AS 01EA 7149) with his son as a pillion, was hit by a Nagaland-registered truck (NL 01AB 9291) driven by one Sunil Marak. Sangma was killed instantly and his son was critically injured and immediately taken to Umsning community health centre for medical treatment.
Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the scene and transported Sangma’s body to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Umiam police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
