Ampareen Lyngdoh, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the Shillong seat at the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, has taken heart with the significant increase in new party members in South West Khasi Hills.
The NPP’s Mawkyrwat unit welcomed more ex-members of the Congress Party, who followed local MDC Carness Sohshang out of the Congress and into the NPP fold.
In her speech, Lyngdoh claimed that 12,000 NPP votes already exist for her in the Mawkyrwat area and she will work towards earning the votes of all the others in the constituency.
Informing that she has already covered 450 villages falling under the Shillong Lok Sabha seat, she said that the NPP is the only party that can remove the hardships of the people and bring development.
