Six Meghalaya bodybuilders won medals at the Mr and Ms India 2023, which was held in Jaipur from December 15 to 17.
The Meghalaya Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation today congratulated the entire Meghalaya contingent who competed at the World Fitness Federation-organised event in Rajasthan.
Whitney Maqueen L Mawphlang won the Women’s Sports Model Category and came second in the Bikini Model Category.
Sawakani Lakiang also won two medals – a silver in the Women’s Sports Model Category and bronze in the Bikini Model Category. The Bouncer Association of Meghalaya today felicitated Lakiang at Jingkieng Myntdu. The 20-year-old is from Khimusniang, Jowai, and a first-year English Honours student of Kiang Nangbah College.
Vivian Pajuh took a silver in the Men’s Bermuda Beach Model Short Category, while Ebenesar Khongsit and Wanraplang Thubru bagged bronzes in the Men’s Bodybuilding Fitness Category and Men’s Bodybuilding Super Body Category respectively. Pyndapbor Dkhar, meanwhile, took bronze in the Men’s Bodybuilding Junior Category.
Two others from the state participated – Badankupdar Kharbhih (Men’s Bodybuilding Athletic Category) and Lalremmawia Sangma.
The event witnessed participation from bodybuilders representing various states from all over India. The association would also like to acknowledge two officials, Flanagan Kharwanlang and Noel Tariang, who were members of the judges’ panel.
