The ICAR-KVK Ri-Bhoi has trained 25 youths and farmers from the district on a skill development qualification pack for nursery workers, a press release stated today.
The programme, under the Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), was conducted from February 16 to March 21 and the final assessment of trainees was done by an ASCI-nominated assessor on April 6.
The month-long training programme with 270 notional hours, ASCI-approved model curriculum was followed and implemented by course director Utpal Barua, SMS Horticulture, who is also an ASCI-certified trainer.
The training was done through four modules – theory, practical, exposure visits and assessment – covering all aspects essential for quality nursery production, maintenance of production units and marketing of produce.
