The Khasi Students Union (KSU) in Lumshnong sent back 26 migrant workers, said to be engaged with the Star Cement Company.
The union lead by its president, Olembait Pdang stated that the migrant workers were brought in by contractors working with the company without valid documents.
Pdang said that such checking will be carried out from time to time if they receive information about the presence of migrant workers without any licenses.
